ITINERARY:

DAY 1 | LIMA
Welcome to Lima! Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to your Hotel.

DAY 2 | LIMA | CUZCO
After Breakfast this morning it’s time to get acquainted with Lima which was founded in 1835 by the Conquistador Francisco Pizarro. You will be driven to the Plaza Mayor, where you will see the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace and the City Hall. Then, you will visit the XVII century church and cloister of San Francisco, a world cultural heritage site. The tour continues to the modern residential suburb of San Isidro and to downtown Miraflores. After the city tour, visit Aliaga’s House, a colonial mansion that has stood already five centuries. Finally, drive to the Larco Herrera Museum, world's largest private collection of Peruvian pre-Colombian art that comprises approximately 45,000 pieces of gold, silver, ceramics, textiles, stone, wood. After the tour you are driven back to the airport in Lima for your short flight to Cuzco. Arrival in Cuzco, meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to your Hotel. The balance of the afternoon is at leisure.

You’re about to have a different Cuzco experience, touring the city at night! You begin at the San Cristobal lookout point, high above the city, for an exceptional panoramic view. Back on the street level, you will visit the neighborhood of San Blas, where Cuzco’s finest artisans live and work. You will continue to the Museum of Pre-Colombian Art, its facilities built on Incan foundations and its exhibits shining a light on the best variety of our ancient Pre- Hispanic legacy. You end this evening with dinner at Map Café restaurant, the best gourmet restaurant in Cuzco. (B, D)

DAY 3 | CUZCO | SACRED VALLEY
After breakfast, take a tour of the most popular archaeological sites in the city of Cuzco, starting with the Sacsayhuaman archaeological complex, a masterpiece of Incan architecture. Next is the Kenko temple, dedicated to animal worship. Then, Puca Pucara, another Incan archaeological site located on top of a hill and used as a fort and administrative center. Last, there is Tambomachay, a place also known as the Inca Baths. Once you’ve finished there, it’s off to the Urubamba Valley, otherwise known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, for a visit to some of its most attractive towns. Lunch will be served at Casa Hacienda Orihuela. Dinner is included at the hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 4 | SACRED VALLEY
Today you will travel to Moray, a fantastic place where circular and semicircular agricultural terraces have been built into the top of a limestone hill overlooking the Urubamba Valley and were used by the Incas as a botanical laboratory. Close at hand is the Colonial village of Maras, famed for its salt pans where the finest salt in the world is extracted: Maras salt. You will also visit the Andean community Misminay where you will live with the townsfolk, who have preserved their ancient traditions. Dinner is at the hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 5 | MACHU PICCHU | CUZCO
After breakfast this morning, you will start your journey to one of the high points in world tourism: Machu Picchu. Your adventure starts by taking a scenic train ride to the city of Aguas Calientes, where you disembark and then it’s a short bus ride that drives you to the impressive Machu Picchu archaeological site, where you will definitely have an experience you will never forget. Afterwards, there is some free time for you to explore the site on your own, to relax, or to meditate surrounded by one of the most mysterious sceneries. Lunch will be at SANCTUARY lodge restaurant. Afterwards, return to town to board the train for the return trip to Cuzco; you will stop at the Ollantaytambo Station and be picked up and driven to your hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 6 | CUZCO | PUNO
After Breakfast, we transfer to the train station for our trip aboard the Andean Explorer from Cuzco to Puno. Lunch included at the train (Departures on Mon, Wed & Sat). This spectacular train trip starts in the historical city of Cuzco and goes South, to Puno, by the side of Lake Titicaca. The train goes through the Andean plains, where you can see vicunas and alpacas grazing among the small villages along the road. The trip includes a stop at La Raya, the highest spot of the route, to observe the spectacular landscape at close to 13,000 feet above sea level. The trip includes a three course lunch on board. Arrival in Puno, reception and transfer to your hotel. (B, L)

DAY 7 | PUNO
The tour will begin with our arrival at Huayllano, a port of Taquile Island, where the community greets tourists very kindly and keeps their old style of traditions and customs. You will be invited to visit the house of a local family to engage in some of their activities with them, like weaving and afterwards, you will enjoy a delicious lunch made from fresh local products. Next, you will have the chance to walk to the town square and then board the boat and sail to Uros Islands. These islands are built out of layers of Totora and are used as housing and trade centers for the native Uros. They travel on handcrafted rafts and colorful clothing. The islanders are skilled craftspeople and express in each piece astonishing techniques developed by their ancestors for centuries. (B, L)

DAY 8 | PUNO | LIMA
Your excursion today begins traveling Southbound on the Pan American Highway, when you reach Km marker 20, your driver will exit and take the road that connects Puno with Juliaca. This is the route to the Sillustani arcaheological site, whose appeal is the tall, stone burial towers, some of which stand 12 meters in height and are 7.5 meters in diameter. And with lovely Lake Umayo in the background, it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Continue to the airport in time for your return flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to the city for an amazing farewell dinner at Malabar restaurant, one of the best restaurants in Lima owned by famous chef Miguel Schiaffino. After dinner is done, you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight back home (Restaurant is closed on Sundays and Holidays). Entrance into the “VIP Room” is included at Lima airport as well as a goodbye gift for you!
