Depart the USA on your flight to San José, the capital of Costa Rica founded in 1738… a bustling city with European influenced architecture, museums, nightlife and the focal point for political and economic activity. Meeting and transfer to the Don Carlos Hotel in San José.

This morning we depart San José to the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, where the major attraction is the Arenal Volcano. The tour begins with a climb up to the central volcanic mountain range, and a visit to the famous artisan town of Sarchi, which is the perfect place to find those souvenirs and gifts for your family and friends. We continue on our tour giving you a chance to admire diverse agricultural plantations, ornamental plants and cattle ranches until arriving in the village of La Fortuna where you will enjoy a typical lunch. During the afternoon, you will visit the world famous Tabacon Hot Springs. These natural hot springs feature a hot river that flows through a series of pools. From cascading falls to tropical gardens, the hot springs are the result of rainwater heated by magma in the Earth’s interior. Once heated, the waters rise to the surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky crust; this way waters become very beneficial to your body because of its temperature helping to relax your muscles, clean pores, and rejuvenate your skin. Tabacon is a very unique location full of natural jewels and is something that should not be missed. At the end of the tour, enjoy a nice dinner at the resort and then you will be transferred to Arenal Manoa for your overnight stay. (B,L,D)

Visit the Arenal Reserve today for an exhilarating adventure. Start the day with the famous Sky Tram and Sky Trek. With the slow paced Sky Tram, you soar smoothly through the rain forest, which offers endless views during your mountainous ascent. Accompanied by a bilingual guide, you will be able to stop the tram at any point, a feature that allows for magnificent, one-of-a-kind photographs as well as and tropical birds which can be spotted at the Arenal Lake. Descend through the famous canopy tour which goes from one mountain to another providing an ultimate adrenaline rush. This afternoon is at leisure for you to explore and enjoy this breathtaking area. This afternoon travel to the Peñas Blancas River for a Safari Float tour. Rafting trips are one of the most pleasant ways to see portions of the country that otherwise go unnoticed. The Peñas Blancas is a slow-flowing and mellow river, which makes it perfect for wildlife observation. Keep your eyes on the passing rainforest and you may be able to spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caimans, and different kinds of tropical birds. As you float down the river, your experienced guide will teach you about the surrounding area and help you spot the incredible fauna. (B)

Transfer to Manuel Antonio and check in at the Plaza Yara Hotel. Afterwards, have the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the sounds of nature, relax at the pool, see the incredible views, or simply take advantage of the many recreational facilities*. Overnight at the Plaza Yara Hotel.

Morning visit to Manuel Antonio National Park; which has one of the most impressive landscapes in the world. The several coves, white sandy beaches, and lush foliage amidst great mountains and forests makes this one of the greatest highlights in Costa Rica. It has a large land and marine biodiversity with beautiful coral reefs. On your visit to Manuel Antonio National Park, walk along the path and discover the different habitats including mangrove swamps, 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds, beach vegetation and lagoons. Observe several species of monkeys, iguanas, and birds possibly even the three-toed sloth in their natural habitat. After your hike, the rest of the day is at leisure. You can stay if you wish on your own at the park or take some more time to relax and enjoy the beach. Overnight at Manuel Antonio. (B)
