DAY 1 | SJO INTL AIRPORT – SAN JOSÉ
Depart the USA on your flight to San José, the capital of Costa Rica founded in 1738… a bustling city with European influenced architecture, museums, nightlife and the focal point for political and economic activity. Meeting and transfer to the Don Carlos Hotel in San José.
DAY 2 |SAN JOSÉ – ARENAL VOLCANO
This morning we depart San José to the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, where the major attraction is the Arenal Volcano. The tour begins with a climb up to the central volcanic mountain range, and a visit to the famous artisan town of Sarchi, which is the perfect place to find those souvenirs and gifts for your family and friends. We continue on our tour giving you a chance to admire diverse agricultural plantations, ornamental plants and cattle ranches until arriving in the village of La Fortuna where you will enjoy a typical lunch. During the afternoon, you will visit the world famous Tabacon Hot Springs. These natural hot springs feature a hot river that flows through a series of pools. From cascading falls to tropical gardens, the hot springs are the result of rainwater heated by magma in the Earth’s interior. Once heated, the waters rise to the surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky crust; this way waters become very beneficial to your body because of its temperature helping to relax your muscles, clean pores, and rejuvenate your skin. Tabacon is a very unique location full of natural jewels and is something that should not be missed. At the end of the tour, enjoy a nice dinner at the resort and then you will be transferred to Arenal Manoa for your overnight stay. (B, L, D)
DAY 3 |LA FORTUNA
Today, you will visit Arenal Hanging Bridges which rests directly in front of the famed Arenal Volcano, set along a corridor followed by migratory birds from both North and South America. Over 60 species of birds are known to visit this area, providing visitors with an excellent chance to do some birding while exploring this section of the rainforest. Explore the canopy of the forest and its wildlife. Refresh with the waterfall next to trail and fill your lungs with the fresh air of the Northern Plains rainforest. Hear the birds singing and breaking the silence of the nature meanwhile you discover the interior of the green vegetation preserved in this location. Afternoon is at leisure to explore and enjoy! DAY 4 |LA FORTUNA
This afternoon travel to the Peñas Blancas River for a Safari Float tour. Rafting trips are one of the most pleasant ways to see portions of the country that otherwise go unnoticed. The Peñas Blancas is a slow-flowing and mellow river, which makes it perfect for wildlife observation. Keep your eyes on the passing rainforest and you may be able to spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, caimans, and different kinds of tropical birds. As you float down the river, your experienced guide will teach you about the surrounding area and help you spot the incredible fauna. (B)
DAY 5 | MONTEVERDE
Morning departure from your Arenal Manoa Hotel to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. This transfer is like a tour in itself, as you sail the incredible Arenal Lake which sits at the base of the Arenal Volcano in the northern highlands of Costa Rica. It is the country’s largest landlocked body of water, with a surface that covers nearly 33 square miles. Then, we will travel by road, giving you more time to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. The restr of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at the El Stablo Mountain Hotel. (B)
DAY 6 | MONTEVERDE
During your stay in Monteverde, venture into the rainforest for the spectacular tours of the treetop walkways, butterfly garden where you can spot 50 species of butterflies and the incredible hummingbird garden where sight and sounds enhance an already amazing atmosphere. Afterwards, have the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the sounds of nature, relax at the pool, see the incredible views, or simply take advantage of the many recreational facilities*. Overnight at the El Establo Mountain Hotel.

DAY 7 | SAN JOSE
Today you will travel by road from Monteverde, back to the San Jose area which is a bustling metropolis adorned with European inspired architecture, museums, and a spectacular nightlife. Visit the variety of tourist, cultural and natural attractions independently including Costa Rica’s best museums: the Gold, Jade, National, Costa Rican Art, La Salle Natural Science, University of Costa Rica, Insect and Children’s Contemporary Art and Design Museums. In addition, this city is also home to the architectural jewel of Costa Rica; the National Theater. Overnight stay at the Country Inn and Suites. (B)

Today you will be transferred back to the airport for your departure flight.
