The Estancia Santa Susana, 90 km away from Buenos Aires, has belonged to the Rossiter family since 1860. Its 2,965 acres are devoted mainly to agriculture, but also to cattle and horse breeding. A couple of years ago the place began to receive visitors, and it started to adapt its facilities for that purpose.
There is a Main House and some straw-roofed constructions, with the dining-room, the 'pulpería' (a traditional general store which was a social gathering point for the gauchos at sunset) and the grid iron.
They will welcome you with a drink and some 'empanadas' and later, enjoy a typical Argentine barbecue. After lunch, enjoy a folklore show with live music, dancing and a tango demonstration, followed by 'Cuadreras' ring races where gauchos show their skills as riders. For those willing to participate in the traditional activities there are horses and 'sulkies' (kind of two-wheeled chart) to have a tour. Later on, as snack some home-made pastries and 'mate' (green tea) will be served.
