Arrive in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina! Our guide will welcome and transfer us to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will have a tango class, with an expert teacher, in a real Milonga. The House of Tango is well known for its daily tango performances. This is a great occasion to have fun while trying the traditional Latin rhythms of this country. Return to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel in Buenos Aires.

We spend the day in the countryside at a typical ranch. We will be welcomed with a drink and some empanadas. Experience a Gaucho-style barbecue lunch of grilled beef, chicken, pork sausages, salads, dessert and coffee. Enjoy a traditional folklore show with live music and dancing, followed by 'Cuadreras' and ring races where the gauchos will show their skills as riders.  We will have the opportunity to participate in these activities. There are horse and carriages to take us around the field. Later on, home-made pastries and Mate tea will be served. Return to the hotel.  Overnight at our hotel in Buenos Aires. (B,L)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for our flight to Salta. (Flight not included). In the afternoon, we have a tour of Salta, one of the most beautiful cities of northern Argentina. We will explore its stunning colonial architecture and learn about its history through the many old monuments and extremely rich culture. Visit the main Cathedral (built in 1855), Cultural Centre America (a historical museum of the sacred art), San Francisco Church and ceremonious monument of General Martin Miguel de Güemes. We will further explore before we conclude our day at the traditional Salteño market. Overnight at our hotel in Salta. (B)

This morning, we take the road that follows the Train to the Clouds towards the canyon of Quebrada de los Toros. On the way, we will stop to visit the ancient archaeological remains of the ruins of Tastil before getting to the village of San Antonio de Cobres, an Andean settlement sitting at an altitude of 3,776 meters above sea level.  We will continue along Route 40 to reach Salinas Grandes, whose giant white surface plays with our perspective. Next, visit the town of Purmamarca, a typical Andean village in the Quebrada Humahuaca. We will see the famous Hill of Seven Colors, a beautiful and colorful landscape. Stop for lunch, on our own, in San Antonio village, where we will have time to discover the artisan local culture and traditions. Overnight at our hotel in Salta. (B)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for our flight to Trelew Airport, the closest to Puerto Madryn. (Flight not included). We will be picked up and transferred to our hotel. In the afternoon, our guide will walk us around Puerto Madryn. The ruins of the first Welsh settlement, located in Punta Cuevas, are where the most ancient housing units in Patagonia were built. We will discover more about the history of the Indian and Welsh culture. Next, we see General San Martín Square where the most ancient buildings in town are located, as well as the church and many museums. The monument to the Tehuelche native is reachable by following the Indian’s Road, which borders the coastline between the dunes and the shore. From there, we can enjoy an excellent panoramic view of the beaches, industrial park and the entire city. Overnight at our hotel in Puerto Madryn. (B)

Early in the morning, we will set out for Puerto Pirámides, located just an hour outside the town of Puerto Madryn. The route to the national park is a beautiful drive full of scenery and lush green pastures, contrasted by tall prairie grasses. Once we have arrived at the national park, we will take a drive along the peninsula to see the water and national park. Upon reaching the tip of the peninsula, we will board a boat for whale-watching! We set our course for south of the peninsula, going through Salinas Grande y Chica. We will arrive at Punta Delgada, around midday, and enjoy lunch at the El Faro resort. There, we will have the opportunity to go down the cliffs and walk near the seals and sea lions. Next, we will head towards Punta Cantor to see the external coast of the peninsula and get to Caleta Valdés (also known as Valdés Inlet). Here, we will view towering geological formations before heading back to the Ameghino Isthmus. While the whales like to steal the show, we’ll also get the chance to see several other species of wildlife such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras (Patagonian hare), armadillos and more. We will arrive at Puerto Madryn in time to watch a beautiful sunset. Overnight at our hotel in Puerto Madryn. (B,L)

On our way to Punta Tombo, our guide will let us know the particular features of the Magellan penguin and enrich our perception of the Patagonian landscape with explanations about the different species of animals and plants. We will hear about the Patagonian geography that we will experience along the way. Upon arrival in Punta Tombo, we hike through the interpretative paths traced around the nests of more than 500,000 Magellan penguins that gather in this colony every year. A tour around the reserve will allow us to appreciate the funny way of walking of these sea birds and their curiosity as they approach us. It is very important to remember that it is not permitted to speak loudly, touch, feed or bother the animals at this natural reserve, where they live freely in their habitat. We will also see many others species of sea birds that build their nests in this colony such as seagulls, petrels, Antarctic pigeons, vapor ducks, cormorants and little seagulls. Some dolphins occasionally approach the bay searching for fish. Lunch is included. Overnight at our hotel in Puerto Madryn. (B,L)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for our flight home. (B)
